Nearly opening time

Posted on 27th April, 2012

A few years back, we used easyJet from Stansted being the only way to get to Ibiza in April. We stayed in the Siesta complex up on the hill overlooking Santa Eulalia.

One day, we drove over to a very quiet Es Cana and went down to Cala Nova beach, looked up and saw movement around the pool bar.

The gate from the beach was locked but we climbed over the wall to find the pool empty, Gonzalo varnishing his bar, Serai varnishing the bar stools and Gustavo painting the hotel walls with the longest paint brush I have ever seen.

Masi was inside and wanted us to see the new "show cooking" area.

We were leaving the island late the following night but were invited back the next evening to an "opening night" meal with wine with the hotels compliments.

I only mention this now because I can visualise all the staff scurrying around these last few days before opening for the new season next week.

I wish them all well and trust all guests will enjoy their stay.
